Role Summary
The Human Resources Manager will serve as a strategic business partner to the COO playing a critical role in strengthening people operations governance and performance across the organization. This role blends hands-on HR execution with strategic partnership ensuring that HR systems policiesand practices are aligned with the companys growth ambitions. The ideal candidate is systems-oriented commercially aware and highly organized with proven experience supporting leadership teams in fast-growing environments. This role will oversee payroll compliance performance management HR systems and cross-functional HR projects while acting as a trusted advisor to managers and leaders.
Key Responsibilities
HR Business Partnering & Leadership Support
Act as a trusted HR advisor to the COO and senior leadership team on people strategy workforce planning and organizational effectiveness.
Support managers with employee relations performance management and people decision-making.
Translate business objectives into practical HR initiatives that enable growth productivity and engagement.
Payroll Compliance & HR Governance
Oversee end-to-end payroll processes ensuring accuracy timeliness and compliance with Kenyan labour laws and statutory requirements.
Ensure HR policies contracts and practices are legally compliant and consistently applied.
Manage audits statutory filings and compliance documentation.
Performance Management & Talent Processes
Lead the design and execution of performance management frameworks including goal setting reviews and development planning.
Support managers in performance improvement processes and succession planning.
Drive a performance-driven culture aligned to business outcomes and brand standards.
HR Systems & Data Management
Own and manage the HRIS ensuring accurate employee data reporting and system optimization.
Leverage HR data and analytics to support decision-making workforce insights and leadership reporting.
Continuously improve HR processes through automation standardization and systems thinking.
Project Management & Organizational Growth
Lead and support HR-related projects including organizational restructuring policy reviews change initiatives and process improvements.
Partner with cross-functional teams to support company expansion new roles and evolving team structures.
Support onboarding workforce scaling and cultural integration during periods of growth.
Stakeholder Engagement & Culture
Build strong relationships across departments acting as a connector between leadership and employees.
Champion company values employee engagement initiatives and a positive workplace culture.
Support internal communications related to people initiatives and organizational change.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Human Resources Management Business Administration or a related field.
Registered Member of the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM) Kenya in good standing with a valid IHRM Practicing Certificate.
Minimum of 5 years progressive experience in Human Resources preferably within a growing complex or multi-stakeholder organization.
Demonstrated experience providing HR support to senior leadership including advisory and execution responsibilities.
Proven hands-on experience in payroll administration statutory compliance performance management frameworks and HR information systems (HRIS).
Prior experience working within large scaling or transformation-driven environments with exposure to organizational growth change management and people process optimization.
