Were seeking a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead and scale the school-based services division of a fast-growing mission-driven organization focused on autism and education. Position Overview
As COO of the School Services Division you will oversee all day-to-day operations related to school-based clinical services including program delivery staffing compliance and integration with back-office functions. Youll manage a team of directors and mid-level managers while aligning service delivery with broader organizational goals. This role demands both big-picture thinking and hands-on execution.
Youll be responsible for driving growth improving systems and supporting high-quality services in both public and private school settings. Youll work closely with internal departments including HR finance and recruitment and ensure compliance with DOE NYSED and other regulatory agencies.
Key Responsibilities
Lead mentor and hold accountable directors and managers across all school service lines
Oversee day-to-day operations for programs delivered in public and private school settings
Partner with finance HR and compliance teams to ensure operational alignment and integrity
Build and implement systems for service tracking reporting and operational efficiency
Ensure compliance with DOE/NYSED guidelines and other relevant regulatory frameworks
Identify and lead key initiatives to improve quality retention and client satisfaction
Collaborate with recruitment and training teams to ensure proper staffing and onboarding
Drive annual goal-setting monitor KPIs and report on divisional performance
Act as a cultural steward and strategic partner across the leadership team
The Ideal Candidate
Senior leadership experience in school-based clinical services special education related services or ABA/healthcare delivery within schools
Deep familiarity with DOE IEP processes CPSE/CSE workflows and school compliance standards
Skilled at managing cross-functional teams improving systems and scaling operations
Technologically fluent and excited about AI-driven tools and innovation in education
Highly collaborative emotionally intelligent and able to build trust with diverse teams
Comfortable making strategic decisions while remaining grounded in service-level detail
Strong project management and change management abilities
Experience with EOS or similar operational frameworks is a plus
