HK$60488 to HK$88333 (HGPS point 25 to 33A) per month including Monthly Allowance Up to 15% of total basic salary (after deducting the contribution of Mandatory Provident Fund by Hospital Authority) as end-of-contract gratuity may be offered to contract staff upon completion of the contract subject to satisfactory performance. | |
Job | |
I. Primary Function | |
To encompass the breadth and depth of current and future radiotherapy practice including clinical practice service management research and education. Being an integral member of the radiotherapy team but will also interact with the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure the delivery of high quality clinical care. To play a leadership role in a radiation therapists team. | |
II. Key Result Areas / Job Description | |
1. | Planning (including Simulation & CT Simulation) |
a) Design treatment plan in collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams. | |
b) Produce treatment plans. | |
c) Perform planning dosimetry. | |
d) Perform treatment plan simulation and verification. | |
e) Conduct QA check of the simulator. | |
f) Perform CT simulation. | |
g) Check immobilization device and accessories. | |
h) Perform Brachytherapy planning and dosimetry. | |
2. | Treatment |
a) Conduct QA check of the radiotherapy equipment. | |
b) Deliver radiotherapy including complex cases. | |
c) Ensure proper and safe delivery of treatment by junior radiation therapists. | |
| d)Monitor patients radiation reactions general conditions and treatment compliance. | |
| e) Advise and counsel patient on self-care and risk associated with radiotherapy. | |
f) Deliver Brachytherapy. | |
g) Dispense and administer radioisotope for tracer tests scanning and therapy. | |
3. | Operational Management |
a) Ensure smooth service operation. | |
b) Maximize equipment utilization. | |
c) Ensure implementation of QA measures. | |
d) Ensure radiation safety. | |
e) Ensure safe storage and handling of radioactive materials. | |
4. | Training and Development |
a) Train and develop junior radiation therapists. | |
b) Provide clinical teaching to radiotherapy students. | |
Entry Requirements | |
1. | A degree in Radiography (Therapy) from a local university or equivalent; and (Note: Please refer to the List of Equivalent Qualifications for appointment to the Radiographer Job sub-family |
3. | 3 years working experience as a Radiation Therapist II or equivalent. (See Remarks 2) |
Preferred Attributes | |
1. | A recognized Master Degree in the subject area of skill/knowledge associated to Radiotherapy services. (e.g. radiation science medical physics medical imaging statistical science counselling dosimetry etc.) (See Remarks 2) |
2. | A post-basic academic or professional qualification. |
3. | Contribution to professional development including research teaching and training. |
4. | Fluency in written English and Chinese as well as spoken English and Cantonese. |
5. | Previous experience in HA or local hospital. |
