Brookhaven Health Care Facility is looking for a compassionate and enthusiastic Activities Assistant to join our this role you will help enrich the lives of our residents through meaningful activities and events that promote social interaction mental stimulation and physical well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning and implementing daily recreational activities for residents.
- Organize group events such as arts & crafts games music therapy and exercise programs.
- Encourage and support residents participation in activities.
- Maintain accurate records of resident participation and activity progress.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to tailor activities to residents needs and preferences.
- Assist in coordinating special events and holiday celebrations.
- Help with resident transportation to and from activity locations as needed.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in activities or recreational therapy preferred but not required.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certifications or education in geriatric care or recreation therapy is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work with a diverse group of residents and staff.
- Compassionate patient and team-oriented with a positive attitude.
