Facilities & Maintenance Manager St. Thomas More Parish Hourly 32 hours/week (MonThurs) plus seasonal needs Benefits Included **Flexible May 2026 Start** SUMMARY The Facilities & Maintenance Manager is responsible for the overall cleanliness safety appearance and operation of all parish buildings and grounds. This position performs custodial and maintenance tasks coordinates preventive maintenance supports parish events and supervises the part-time Maintenance Assistant. The role ensures a welcoming safe and well-maintained environment for parishioners guests and staff. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES - Conduct daily campus inspections; perform light seasonal outdoor work and basic grounds care.
- Clean all parish spaces as needed: restrooms kitchen offices classrooms/meeting rooms social hall and church.
- Remove all refuse daily and maintain sanitary conditions throughout campus.
- Perform basic repairs to electrical plumbing lighting sprinkler and HVAC systems.
- Monitor building systems identify problems and communicate major needs to the Parish Business Manager to coordinate with contractors for specialized repairs or services.
- Maintain inventories of cleaning maintenance and social hall supplies.
- Replace lighting and perform routine preventive maintenance.
- Set up and tear down spaces for parish events meetings and liturgical seasons.
- Share and assign duties with the part-time Maintenance Assistant; provide direction and oversight.
- Perform other duties as needed to support parish operations.
QUALIFICATIONS - Experience with basic building maintenance repair and custodial work.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain clean safe environments.
- Good communication skills; dependable organized and self-directed.
- Ability to bend stoop climb lift up to 50 lbs. and be on feet for extended periods.
- Comfortable using ladders or a lift up to 25 feet.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team; experience supervising others preferred.
- Familiarity with Catholic rituals/seasons and community environments.
