Job Summary
The overall purpose of this sales position is to increase revenue for the IEEE Blended Learning Program (IEEE BLP) and support IEEE BLP customers globally. This position promotes IEEE Blended Learning Program courses and other skill development offerings to Government organizations corporations and academic institutions in India. The sales support process includes discussions with customers at different hierarchies like Country head VP General Manager Director Technical manager Training head in the corporate world and Vice Chancellor/ Director Principal HoDs faculty and librarians in the academic domain. The activity requires multiple interactions and follow-ups to convert the opportunities and provide support after the sales.

The role also demands working with the distributor/dealer and IEEE team to promote IEEE BLP throughout India. The role reports to the Senior Education - Manager and manages no direct reports.

From time to time the organization may also demand support to conduct workshops/events enable BLP content to customers deliver assessments support customers for any content access/enablement issues on time


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform all pre and post-sales functions required to generate both strategic and tactical business opportunities in India under the guidance of Sr. Manager - Education work with all suppliers to get the BLP promoted and increase sales.
  • Support to execute sales targets set on an annual basis throughout the year
  • Perform all pre and post-sales functions that include setting up customer meetings proposal preparation follow-ups enabling evaluation and support to generate new sales from emails direct mailings teleconferences trade shows and other methods
  • Work with distributors to promote and sell IEEE BLP courses and other offerings. This includes arranging joint sales calls with distributors following up with customers to win the deal payment collection delivering the commitments etc
  • Follow up on payments from all customers to ensure timely payments
  • Interface with the IEEE BLP team to support platform-related queries assessments training and other new product lines

Education

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience Req

Work Experience

  • 4-7 years in relevant experience Req
  • Responsibility for managing both external and internal teams would be very desirable Req
  • Experience of working with distributors for promoting educational products throughout India Req
  • Hands-on experience in analysis design and development in the IT domain is desirable Req
  • Customer interaction experience in the academia and IT industry Req
  • Experience of working with Government organizations academia and corporates at different levels Req
  • Experience of promoting educational products and services Pref
  • Contacts from academia and corporates Pref
  • Experience of working with volunteers and suppliers Pref
  • Experience in post-sales support and customer management

Skills and Requirements

  • Ability to meet financial sales targets and manage pipeline reporting
  • Ability to effectively present ideas concepts and technical solutions to demonstrate system functionalities to technical audience in both small and large groups
  • Excellent English reading skills required for understanding technical documents
  • He/she must have the interpersonal skills needed to influence and work cooperatively collaboratively and expeditiously with staff volunteers and leaders in academia government and industry
  • Experience of working with and managing distributors in the education domain
  • The incumbent must be a technologically savvy knowledge worker who seeks out technology solutions to business challenges
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English are required to effectively present ideas and concepts to stakeholders senior management and the user community as well as highly proficient technical peers and personnel from all departments
