Position overview
The Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse Junior Level provides direct high-acuity nursing care to critically ill adult patients in a hospital ICU setting. This role is ideal for early-career critical care nurses with 1 2 years of experience who want to strengthen assessment ventilator and hemodynamic skills in a collaborative ICU team environment.
Key responsibilities

Provide direct nursing care to critically ill patients including continuous monitoring timely interventions and frequent reassessment.

Perform comprehensive and focused assessments monitor vital signs and hemodynamic parameters and recognize early signs of deterioration.

Administer medications titrate IV drips as ordered and manage IV therapy safely and accurately.

Assist with or manage ventilator care in collaboration with respiratory therapy including monitoring settings alarms and patient response.

Support ICU procedures by preparing equipment assisting physicians or intensivists and monitoring patients during bedside interventions.

Maintain detailed timely documentation in the EMR including assessments interventions responses and care plans.

Collaborate with physicians respiratory therapists pharmacists and other team members to develop and implement individualized plans of care.

Participate in emergency responses (e.g. codes rapid responses) following ACLS protocols and unit guidelines.
Required qualifications

Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) required.

Current Arizona Registered Nurse (RN) license or compact license with Arizona eligibility.

1 2 years of RN experience; prior ICU or high-acuity acute care experience strongly preferred.

Current BLS and ACLS certifications; PALS preferred per patient population and facility policy.

Foundational critical care skills including patient assessment IV therapy and use of common ICU equipment and monitors.

Effective communication teamwork and organizational skills with a commitment to learning and professional growth in critical care.
