Job Title: Hospital Patient Care Associate (PCA)
Pay Rate: $20/hour (W2)

Position Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dependable Patient Care Associate (PCA) to support inpatient clinical teams in a hospital setting. As a key member of the care team the PCA assists Registered Nurses by providing direct patient care supporting activities of daily living performing basic clinical procedures and maintaining a safe and supportive patient environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Measure record and document vital signs including blood pressure pulse temperature respirations intake and output
Assess and document patient pain levels using standardized pain scales (as applicable)
Perform clinical procedures such as specimen collection venipuncture EKGs compression device application post-mortem care and skin integrity support
Assist patients with mobility ambulation transfers and positioning
Support activities of daily living including feeding bathing toileting oral care and comfort measures
Orient patients to the care environment and unit routines
Assist with dietary needs including tray delivery and collection menu support and nutritional supplement preparation
Maintain a clean safe and functional patient care environment
Provide one-to-one observation for patient safety suicide prevention or elopement risk as directed
Follow isolation precautions and infection control protocols under RN supervision
Conduct scheduled purposeful rounding and report patient concerns to nursing staff
Utilize communication systems and follow established workflows
Complete documentation reports and other duties as assigned
Deliver culturally sensitive respectful and patient-centered care
Shared Staff Responsibilities
Greet visitors and respond to inquiries professionally
Answer patient call systems and direct requests appropriately
Transport patients via wheelchair or stretcher as needed
Assist with room upkeep bed-making and trash removal
Deliver and collect meal trays and patient belongings
Operate pneumatic tube systems when required
Additional Responsibilities (ICU/Specialty Units as Applicable)
Perform discharge bed-making and emergency clean-up
Transport patients and laboratory specimens
Update communication boards and admission/transfer/discharge systems
Assemble and maintain medical records
Maintain supplies and ensure proper equipment care
Skills & Qualifications
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks
Adaptability and sound judgment in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency in spoken and written English
Physical stamina and manual dexterity to meet job demands
Education & Certification
High school diploma or equivalent (required)
BLS certification (required; AHA preferred)
Prior healthcare experience of 39 months preferred
