Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced carer to work waking night shifts from 22:00 to 08:00 in Kettering. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive care to our client who has multiple sclerosis diabetes and requires support with a CPAP machine stoma and catheter.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Maintain a vigilant presence throughout the night shift ensuring the clients safety and comfort at all times.
  2. Administer medication as prescribed and monitor the clients condition reporting any changes or concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
  3. Assist with the proper use and maintenance of the CPAP machine ensuring optimal functionality and hygiene.
  4. Provide skilled care for the clients stoma and catheter including cleaning changing and monitoring for any signs of infection or complications.
  5. Assist with personal care tasks such as toileting bathing and changing positions while maintaining the clients dignity and comfort.
  6. Maintain accurate and detailed records of all care provided medications administered and any notable events during the shift.
  7. Respond promptly and appropriately to any emergencies that may arise following established protocols and contacting emergency services if necessary.
  8. Ensure a clean and safe environment for the client including regular tidying and sanitisation of the care area.
  9. Communicate effectively with day shift carers to ensure continuity of care and seamless handover of information.
  10. Participate in ongoing training and development to maintain and enhance skills relevant to the clients specific needs.
  11. Adhere strictly to all company policies procedures and care plans to ensure the highest standard of care is consistently delivered.

This role requires a high level of responsibility attention to detail and the ability to work independently while providing compassionate and professional care.


Qualifications :

Essential Qualifications:

  • Commitment to providing high-quality care for individuals with complex medical needs
  • Willingness to work night shifts (22:00 to 08:00) and maintain alertness throughout the shift
  • Physical capability to assist with personal care tasks and patient positioning
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise medical instructions
  • Excellent communication skills for effective handovers and record-keeping

Training and Development:

  • Training will be provided to ensure competence in all aspects of the role
  • Training will consist of a combination of online modules and in-person practical sessions
  • Ongoing professional development opportunities will be available to enhance skills and knowledge
