Job Description

Reporting directly to the Director of Health and Safety the Coordinator plays a critical role in fostering and maintaining a Culture of Safety across all projects and teams. This position ensures the implementation of health and safety programs incident response protocols and regulatory compliance procedures in accordance with federal state and local standards including OSHA and internal Health & Safety Manual requirements.
Hire Type: Full-Time (hourly)
Schedule: 40 hours per week MondayFriday.
Location: Remote
Travel: Up to 10% as needed
Key Responsibilities/Focus Areas
  • Workers Compensation and Claims Management
    • Coordinate and manage workers compensation claims ensuring timely reporting documentation and follow-up with involved parties.
    • Act as liaison between the injured employee medical providers insurance representatives and internal stakeholders.
    • Maintain confidentiality of medical records and ensure compliance with OSHA and HIPAA regulations.
    • Assist with safe return-to-work plans in collaboration with HR and supervisors.
  • Incident Investigations
    • Lead or assist in investigations of workplace accidents incidents and near-misses to identify root causes and corrective actions.
    • Prepare and submit incident reports to applicable parties and regulatory agencies as required.
    • Ensure lessons learned from incidents are shared and communicated to Safety Director.
  • Remote Project Safety Audits
    • Conduct regular remote safety audits and inspections for projects to ensure compliance with Chronicle Heritage safety protocols including review of Health and Safety Sit Plan (HASSP) Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs) and Daily Safety Plans (DSPs).
    • Verify availability and use of PPE emergency protocols and digital documentation procedures on remote sites.
    • Use system tools to review and submit digital safety logs and audit results.
  • General Safety Program Support
    • Assist with developing reviewing and updating HASSPs and AHAs as needed in coordination with Safety Director.
    • Deliver safety training sessions and refreshers on-site or virtually.
    • Monitor compliance with OSHA 29 CFR 1910/1926 standards and company H&S policies.
    • Promote employee engagement in safety through Behavior-Based Safety practices and training.
    • Additional safety support as needed and communicated by Safety Director.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma
  • 3 years of experience in Health and Safety.
  • Familiarity with compliance and continual improvement frameworks (e.g. ISO 14001)
  • Valid drivers license
  • Excellent communication (verbal/written) organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Outlook Word Excel PowerPoint Teams)
  • Ability to speak and deliver companywide announcements and conduct regional training sessions virtually.
  • Ability to Travel (as needed)

  • Ability to multitask varied and significant matters
  • Meet detailed quality assurance standards and set performance goals
  • Attention to detail for reviewing damaged property and documents
  • Ability to document work in progress
  • OSHA 30-hour Health and Safety Course Certification (Construction or General Industry)
  • Safety Professional Certification (CSP CCH or equivalent credentials or eligibility to obtain)
  • Knowledgeable in OSHA 29 CFR 1910 and 1926 Regulations (EMa plus)
  • Actively certified as or actively participating as an ISO and/or 9001 Internal Auditor

Working Conditions
  • Hybrid or remote work model with periodic travel to field sites offices and agency/client meetings (domestic and international).
  • May occasionally require short notice travel or after-hours availability during key project milestones or quality escalations.
