Job Description:
The Production Planning position will be responsible for working with production supervisors purchasing manufacturing and quality engineers to ensure schedules and priorities are being met. Discuss and resolve medium to high complexity schedule issues.
Essential Functions:
- Perform a variety of duties to release the work packets of various programs and projects according to the Division master schedule and program network plans. Work from the MRP (Material RequirementPlanning) system production schedules job sequencing packetsestablished procedures and practices and written or verbal closely with Master Scheduling to facilitate the planning andexecution of programs as outlined in the production schedules.
- Ensure all MRP planning data ismaintained on a regular basis (i.e. lead-times lot sizes inventorytransfers and policy codes). Perform accurateand complete maintenance transactions into the MRP system for all purchasing and planning transactions. Plan coordinate and expedite detailed part schedules in compliancewith the Master Schedule requirements or as otherwise directed.
- Review and analyze material order requirements for respective programs and ensure timely order launch tomeet production schedules. Notify purchasing and supervisor of any critical items that require expediting.
- Review allmanufacturing orders for release ensuring no hardware shortagesexist. Compile and complete job packets for release to the manufacturing floor which will contain all requireddocumentation including drawings parts lists pick lists operationssheets assembly instructions and test methods.
- Work closely with Purchasing Supplier Operations andProduct Teams to status and expedite POs while maintaining effective communications regarding deliverystatus and procurement problems. Communicate real or potential scheduledelays pertaining to assigned program(s).
- Understand thelogic of the company Management Information System as it specificallypertains to MRP order launching and program execution.
- Explains and interprets process and procedures to others within and outside the job area.
- Ability to utilizesystems to report program status.
- Collaboration Organization attention to detail and a sense of urgency.
- Able to multi-task work through interruptions.
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience.
- Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance which requires US Citizenship
- Production Planning experience required.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- AdvancedMicrosoft Office skills.
- Material Requirement (MRP) experience.
- SAP Experience
- Excellent written& verbal communication.
- Ability to investigate issues and problem solve.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements the salary range for this role in Massachusetts is $51000- $94500 . This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
