LOCATION: Cardiff office based minimum 3 to 4 days
PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: 30000 - 36000 per annum depending on relevant skills knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

This role is advertised as part of our BBC Extend programme for disabled people. PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
We have an exciting opportunity for a Business Co-ordinator to become an integral part of our team working in close collaboration with Operational and News departments across BBC this pivotal role the successful candidate will be responsible for planning coordinating and deploying the craft teams ensuring seamless service delivery to our busy News department. This will be carried out in line with production schedules transmission requirements service conditions and the strategic goals of the News and Operational units. The role requires a high level of adaptability to respond quickly to changing priorities and dynamic newsroom demands.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT:
- Deploy craft staff efficiently in alignment with newsroom requirements and production priorities.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for crew members proactively escalate concerns when necessary work closely with the Newsroom team to ensure smooth coordination and communication and coordinate the movement of camera staff between News and General Programmes to meet production needs.
- Coordinate and manage travel arrangements to ensure smooth and efficient logistics for crew and team members.
- Generate and provide accurate data insights to support planning teams in decision-making and resource allocation.
- Source and contract freelance and casual staff ensuring coverage and support during peak periods.
- Manage staff schedules and rotas to reflect employment terms and support the Team Leader with training and development based on individual plans.
- Provide general policy guidance and advice to support policy compliance working with divisional specialists (e.g. IT Business Continuity H&S etc.) as required.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
- You will need strong organisational skills with an ability to prioritise multiple requirements from various departments.
- You will need the ability to adapt to continually changing business needs.
- Well-developed IT skills and ability to quickly learn digital systems.
- You will need to maintain awareness of key dates/deadlines and demonstrate the ability to meet deadlines in a pressurised environment.
- Team player who can provide valued contributions to business discussions.
DESIRABLE BUT NOT REQUIRED :
- Experience working in a programme making environment good general knowledge of programme making techniques and detailed knowledge of techniques related to own area of responsibility.
- You will have an excellent knowledge of policies and Working Time Directive to enable support of Resource Scheduling.
