Overview:

Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital is hiring an RN for our Admit Recovery Department. This is a Full Time Day shift position in Charlottesville VA!

Sign on Bonus up to $15000 available for qualified candidates.

Admit Recovery is a 28-bed unit specializing in same day surgery. This unit sees a diverse patient population for radiology surgical and endoscopy and is well supported with a 1-3 Nursing Ratio and additional Patient Care Technicians. Operating hours for the unit are 5AM to 730 PM Monday to Friday. Candidates will be expected to rotate shifts within the operational hours in order to maintain competency in all aspects of care both pre and post procedure.

No weekends no holidays and NO CALL schedule.

Description

The Registered Nurse will play a critical role in delivering high-quality compassionate care to a diverse patient population. Your responsibilities will encompass all aspects of patient care including conducting thorough assessments designing and implementing personalized care plans administering medications and treatments and evaluating patient responses to interventions. You will work closely with an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and ensure continuity throughout the treatment process.

In this role you will educate patients and their families about health conditions treatments and post-discharge care empowering them to make informed decisions about their health. You will monitor and record vital signs observe changes in patient conditions and respond promptly with appropriate interventions. Utilizing sound clinical judgment you will address complex health situations consult with medical team members as needed and document all care in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards.

The RN is expected to uphold the highest standards of patient safety adhere to evidence-based protocols and contribute to a supportive and empathetic environment. As a patient advocate you will work tirelessly to ensure each patients comfort dignity and well-being while fostering trust and a sense of security. This role demands a commitment to continuous learning adaptability to evolving healthcare practices and dedication to promoting the mission and values of the healthcare organization. Responsible for performing competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. Possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by clinical area(s). Exhibits sound knowledge and understanding of routine nursing procedures and RN and LPN scope of practice.

Education

  • Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing (required)

  • Bachelor of Science Nursing- BSN or MSN (Preferred)

Certification/Licensure

  • Registered nursing License (Required)

  • BLS required within 90 days of hire

Experience

  • None required

  • 1 year of acute care (preferred)

  • Previous healthcare experience (preferred)
