JOB DESCRIPTION PURCHASING MANAGER

Salary package: 55-65 millions

CNKs client in the production of high-speed cable products particularly serving the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI). With many years of experience in cable manufacturing they are proud to be a strategic partner of numerous renowned global brands. Their factory in Vietnam currently employs up to 2000 staff members with a dynamic and experienced workforce committed to delivering high-quality products. Key Responsibilities:

Shall direct and oversee all procurement activities lead a team of buyers and SQE for getting the best price & quality for the purchases. Ensure good buying practice develop relationships with suppliers establish metrics to measure and improve supplier performance such that suppliers continuously improve and remain happy and keen to work on joint innovative solutions for future opportunities. The site purchasing manager reports on a direct Maintain purchasing procedure consistent with company strategy.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES TO BE ACCOMPLISHED:

• Ensure all purchasing practice compliance with policy and procedure.
• Getting goods and services for best price & value.
• Cutting any waste and unnecessary costs in order to create a streamlined process for fast production runs.
• Manage Contract and other terms & conditions in compliance to ensure positive results for the company.
• Negotiate or renegotiate and administer contracts with suppliers &vendors.
• Define develop and make effective use of cost analysis tools to determine right price.
• Plan & Develop measures to maintain price levels with suppliers.
• Maintain interface between Customers Product line the Group & BU support functions.
• Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
• Own site KPIs in Purchasing eg: Price Erosion Quality and Delivery Performance and support Supplier development practices and supplier performance monitoring.
• Work closely with Global and Site Engineering team for NPI purchasing activity in coordination with Site
• Planning Production R&D and Manufacturing engineering functions.
• Work with Suppliers to ensure uninterrupted but optimized flow of material.
• Building strong working relationships both internally and with key suppliers.
• Understanding and keeping up with new trends and regulations in business.
• Ensure appropriate dealing with international suppliers.
• Understanding technology and managing online systems such as e-auctions and e-tendering.
• Maintain a basic working technical knowledge of the goods to be purchased.
• Ensure suppliers to comply with environment requirements.

MAIN FINANCIAL AND MANAGERIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES (Turnover P&L Productivity of industrial & manufacturing equipment manpower under his/her responsibility)

• Responsible to meet the Yearly cost reduction targets for site purchasing which has direct impact on the bottom line.
• Lead develop and mentor a purchasing team assigning clear objectives.

PLACE IN THE ORGANIZATION (attach an organization chart indicating the other positions on the same level as this one as well as the number of people or the organizational elements supervised by the holder of this position).

• Reports to Site Manager and also functionally to the Procurement Director of the Group.

INTER BU / SBG LIAISONS (Responsibility for transversal activities or cross departmental line: projects programs etc.)

• Liaise with other BU Purchase team when need arise to utilize suppliers within their AVL.
• Liaise with Global & Site Engineering for New product development and material change programs.
• Site quality and supply chain.
• Suppliers.

PARTICIPATION IN DECISIONAL STRUCTURES WITHIN ONES UNIT AND/OR FOR INVESTMENT DECISIONS : Applicable

EDUCATION (Qualifications obtained in the course of formal education and/or training)

• Bachelor Degree in Engineering or BS degree in supply chain logistics or Business Administration.

EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

• 4 - 6 years of experience in Purchase/Supply Chain Management in any high tech manufacturing similar industry in Electronics Semiconductor Automotive sector.
• Familiarity with sourcing & vendor management.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Strong project management experience and ability to manage multiple priorities at a time.
• Excellent negotiating and problem solving skills.
• Strong leadership and organizational ability to lead mentor and improve skill sets of the purchasing team.
• Posses networking skills highly motivated and able to work with tight deadlines.
• Strong written & verbal communication skills.
• Interest in market dynamics along with business sense.
• Familiarity with the latest requirements of ISO 9001 IATF and ISO14001.
• Possessing a good mix of hard and soft skills.
• Fluent in English. line to the site manager and on a dotted line to the group sourcing director.
