Sous Chef New Opening (City Centre Birmingham)
Location: Birmingham City Centre (B3 2DP)
Salary: 40000 per annum
Hours: Approx. 48 hours per week 4 on / 4 off rota
Contract: Full-time permanent
We are starting conversations with experienced Sous Chefs ahead of a high-profile city-centre restaurant opening in Birmingham.
This is a modern ingredient-led restaurant operating at the top end of the market focused on seasonal produce strong flavours and beautifully executed plates. The site will serve breakfast lunch and dinner and is part of a wider group with a strong reputation for quality consistency and well-run kitchens.
The Role
As Sous Chef you will work closely with the Head Chef to support the day-to-day running of the kitchen and play a key role in delivering consistent high-quality service.
Key responsibilities include:
Supporting service across breakfast lunch and dinner
Supervising the brigade and supporting the development of junior chefs
Ensuring consistency pace and presentation across all dishes
Managing prep lists stock levels and supplier deliveries
Maintaining high standards of food safety hygiene and organisation
Stepping up to lead services in the Head Chefs absence
Contributing ideas to menu development and refinement
This is a hands-on role suited to a calm organised chef who enjoys leading from the front.
About You
Proven experience as a Sous Chef or strong Senior Chef de Partie
Background in quality-led fresh-food kitchens
Confident running service and supporting a brigade
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Comfortable working a 48-hour week on a 4 on / 4 off rota
Passion for seasonal ingredients and well-executed food
Right to work in the UK
