Title: Executive Director Briarwood Community
FLSA Status: Full-time Exempt
Supervisor: Chief Operating Officer
Compensation: $160000- $185000/ annually DOE
Summary of Responsibilities:
The Executive Director (ED) is responsible for overseeing all operations and business activities to ensure they produce desired financial viability and are consistent with the overall strategy and mission of the continuing care retirement community. The ED facilitates budget creation and management while monitoring the propertys fiscal performance with monthly dashboards and reports. The ED is responsible for building census and patient base through comprehensive planning and networking. The ED assures compliance with all applicable regulatory agency requirements. Individual must strive to lead a cohesive senior management team in a supportive and collegial environment while challenging them to achieve high level of performance accountability. Further the position assures that effective and timely communication is maintained with the Board leadership central office leadership and subject matter experts (SMEs) residents and staff.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- A minimum 5 years of upper-level management experience in organizations providing acute or long-term care independent living assisted living memory care nursing and geriatric related administration.
- A masters degree in business or health care related field is preferred.
- A nursing home administration license is preferred but not required.
- Excellent management skills including organization attention to detail and follow through.
- Outstanding oral written and client facing communication skills.
- Analytical abilities and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrate competency to function at the conceptual strategic and implementation levels.
- Proven skills in program development and management in order to implement and evaluate.
- Become an active participant in appropriate business and professional organizations in the Worcester area while being a strong advocate for the community.
Responsibilities:
General Responsibilities
- Provide oversight and direction of all departments across the organization.
- Maintain and promote a culture of excellence committed to high standards of quality and customer service.
- Identify improvement initiatives and implement them effectively with the management team to achieve excellent service goals and resident satisfaction.
- Develop strong and effective relationships with residents staff families and members of the local community.
- Establish a culture of professional growth mentoring and advancement.
- Build professional and personal credibility with the residents and staff.
- Explore and assess opportunities for strategic affiliations or shared services as needed.
- Maintain appropriate levels of Confidentiality and HIPPA requirements.
- Provide oversite of employment policies salary ranges benefits etc. to maintain adequate staffing levels and provide appropriate training.
- Ensure a safe and sanitary environment for staff residents and consumers.
- On-call for emergencies 24/7.
- Assume additional responsibilities that may be requested or required from time to time.
Financial Management
- Facilitate and manage budgets cash flow loans occupancy and financial performance.
- Provide financial analysis and project management.
- Assure compliance with all applicable standards agency regulations and adhere to all reporting requirements and laws.
- Achieve and maintain positive financial results.
- Evaluate coordinate and secure budget approval for capital improvements in conjunction with central office direction.
- Develop and deliver best practices to ensure achievement of all business goals.
- Review and monitor activity reports and financials statements to ensure accuracy.
- In conjunction with central office provide leadership and direction on Board related policies for future fiscal viability.
Marketing
- Establish annual marketing plan and monitor progress to reach established occupancy goals for each housing and/or care component.
- Expand and maintain referral base necessary for accomplishing occupancy goals
- Lead marketing department in promotional events tours speaking engagements digital and web advertising and establishing community referral contacts.
- Support the team in transitioning residents in the transfer to other suitable components of the community to effectively provide a continuum of care for the residents.
- Provide analytical data on marketing efforts census referrals etc.
Board Relations
- Serve as the management agents primary contact.
- Maintain an open and candid relationship with the Board of Trustees sharing information in a transparent and concise manner. Responsible for the provision of timely accurate and complete reports to the Board on the operational condition of the property and programs.
- Develop a positive and effective working relationship with the Board.
- Coordinate with the Board chair and committee chairs meeting schedules and reports needed for such meetings.
