Director of Occupational Therapy (Full-Time Permanent) Job Type: Permanent Full Time

Job Summary The Director of Occupational Therapy provides clinical leadership and oversight for the Occupational Therapy Department. This role is responsible for supervising Occupational Therapy staff including Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) and Rehabilitation Technicians while ensuring high-quality patient care and compliance with all applicable regulations policies and professional standards.
The Director oversees clinical education staff competency and departmental policies and procedures related to scope of care evaluation and treatment standards discharge planning and documentation. This position includes direct patient care approximately 80% of the time with the remaining 20% dedicated to program development and administrative responsibilities. All duties are performed in accordance with the applicable State Practice Act.
Key Responsibilities -
Provide clinical oversight and supervision of Occupational Therapy staff

Supervise and support COTAs and Rehabilitation Technicians

Coordinate clinical education training and competency assessments

Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements departmental policies and professional standards

Maintain and update Occupational Therapy policies and procedures

Participate in program development and quality improvement initiatives

Evaluate and treat patients as part of direct clinical care responsibilities

Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Qualifications -
Education: Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program approved by the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA)

Licensure: Current Occupational Therapist license in the applicable state

Experience: Minimum of 3 years of Occupational Therapy experience

Professional Membership: Membership in the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) preferred

Must meet all additional qualifications recommended by the applicable Therapy Board and Rehabilitation Services Department
