This program is anticipated to open in March 2026 in Penticton BC designed specifically for adults with high and complex medical needs. The program will provide specialized support for individuals with high medical needs focusing on helping them grow build independence and strengthen connections within their community. The home will offer a safe and supportive environment tailored to meet complex care requirements while promoting empowerment and inclusion. Stay tunedmore details coming soon!
The Position
The Senior Residence Worker plans implements and oversees the day to day activities of a program in this CARF accredited agency. The Senior Residence Worker participates in program development formulation of policies and procedures program evaluation and budget preparation and works closely with community partners. They also carries a direct service caseload. This role requires substantial experience working with high needs adult populations and a strong understanding of complex care environments.
Note that this position could potentially fall under a Collective Agreement. Posting to be updated following confirmation of the program set-up
Scheduling:
One (1) permanent full-time position working 40 hours per week:
Hours may vary to meet the needs of the program
Requires the full ability to perform on-call duties
In Your Role You Will
Plan and implement activities and special events for the program.
Oversee the day to day operation of the program by ensuring that the necessary facilities and equipment are in place adhering to program policies guidelines and best practices and meeting program standards and licensing requirements.
Assist with recruitment selection dismissal orientation training monitoring and supporting contractors as required.
Make recommendation to the supervisor regarding program development policy and procedure formulation and program evaluation.
Promote public awareness of and support for the program by performing duties such as producing promotional materials and attending community events.
Liaise with community service providers and other professionals to coordinate service provision facilitate referrals to the program and represent the organization and/or program in external events.
Monitor and authorizes program expenditures and maintain financial records in accordance with the agencys established procedures. Provides input to the supervisor in the preparation of the program budget.
Maintain related records and statistics and produce reports as required.
Operate motor vehicles safely and legally while transporting persons served or on Taproot business.
Provide on-call and emergency coverage on pager or cell phone as required.
Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as required.

As An Ideal Candidate You Possess
Diploma or Degree in Social Work Child and Youth Work Sociology or Psychology or other social services etc.
Minimum 3 years recent related social services experience
Minimum 1 year supervisory or management experience
NOTE - Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.
Valid CPR/First Aid
Valid BC Drivers License with clean drivers abstract and a reliable vehicle
Non-Violent Physical Crisis Intervention Certificate and Conflict Resolution Certificate (or willing to obtain during probationary period)
Proactive Procedures Behaviour Strategies Foundations and Positive behavior supports experience is an asset
WHMIS and Food Hygiene and Sanitation certificates an asset
Ability to comprehend information and communicate effectively both orally and in writing (in English) including business communications and basic mathematics.
