Assistant Technical Manager (several positions) (holding the functional title of Assistant Laboratory Manager) in the Hong Kong Jockey Club Global Health Institute School of Public Health (Ref.: 533998) to commence as soon as possible on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme totalling up to 10% of basis salary with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.
Applicants should possess a Bachelors degree or above in science or related disciplines with at least 5 years relevant experience. They must demonstrate strong proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese (including Mandarin) as well as excellent communication organizational problem-solving and laboratory management skills. Ideal candidates will be self-motivated responsible and a team player. Knowledge of safety procedures is an advantage and prior experience working in culturally diverse cultural environments is preferred.
The appointees will be responsible for overseeing the operations of the laboratories at the Hong Kong Jockey Club Global Health Institute. Key duties include managing laboratory facilities; handling procurement and inventory of equipment and consumables; developing and implementing standard operation protocols; providing training and technical support to users; managing documentation and preparing reports; supporting events and seminars; and performing other duties as assigned.
