Job Description:
The Superintendent plays a pivotal role in planning managing and executing all facets of assigned projects ensuring timely and profitable completion. Responsible for managing materials equipment and personnel they provide direct supervision leadership and guidance to employees and subcontractors facilitating planning coordination and execution to meet project goals. With a focus on maximizing project profits the Superintendent oversees field operations directly supervising the labor force and upholding high standards of workmanship. Strong leadership organizational time management communication and client service skills are essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Project Manager to develop project schedules and budgets ensuring alignment with project objectives.
- Thoroughly familiarize oneself with project plans specifications contracts and all relevant documents.
- Select appropriate methods and acquire necessary equipment for project execution.
- Enforce company safety policies organizing safety meetings and ensuring compliance among employees and supervisors.
- Manage workforce by hiring or terminating workers as necessary to maintain safety efficiency and timeliness.
- Ensure accurate completion of all documentation including safety reports payroll and labor unit reports.
- Conduct meetings with subordinates subcontractors and other stakeholders to communicate coordinate and direct work effectively.
- Approve or reject invoices and expenses verifying coding accuracy on all financial documents.
- Provide guidance to supervisors on job direction and company policies.
- Inspect work performed by employees and subcontractors to ensure compliance with contract requirements and maintain high-quality standards.
- Ensure jobsite compliance with all federally mandated equal employment opportunity policies and non-discriminatory laws and regulations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Construction Management Engineering or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction supervision with a proven track record of successfully managing commercial construction projects.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to effectively manage onsite teams and communicate with project stakeholders.
- Thorough understanding of construction processes safety regulations and quality standards.
- Proficiency in construction management software and tools such as Procore or Microsoft Project.
- OSHA 30-Hour certification preferred.
- Willingness to travel to project sites and work flexible hours as needed.
