Norwalk Hospital is a 366-bed academic and community medical center serving Fairfield County Connecticut and the surrounding New York Metro area. We are a Level II Trauma Center and Joint Replacement Center of Excellence and we provide advanced cancer heart and neuroscience care.

Responsibilities:
Handles pulls labels packages compounds and delivers medications to patients or authorized personnel as directed by the pharmacist.
Helps maintain medication and supply inventory.
Identifies pulls and disposes of expired medications as needed.
Performs clerical duties such as filing data entry and printer management.
Maintains compliance with all state federal and regulatory requirements by completing and reviewing audits including managing temperature logs cleaning logs and unit inspections.
Manages automated dispensing cabinet (ADC) inventory by using main console reports and troubleshooting minor technical issues.
Refills and monitors expiration dates for code carts kits and medication trays.
Handles and delivers controlled medications in accordance with all state and federal regulations and departmental policies.
Triages phone calls and transfers medication-related questions to the pharmacist.
Navigates the electronic medical record (EMR) system to resolve issues related to missing medications and charges/billing.
Understands the identification handling and storage of hazardous medications per USP 800 NIOSH OSHA and departmental policy.
Complies with USP 795 USP 797 and USP 800 requirements when compounding sterile and non-sterile products by following all departmental policies and procedures related to technique training testing and personal hygiene.
Performs sterile and non-sterile compounding of non-hazardous products and fully performs sterile and non-sterile compounding of biohazardous products.
Maintains and Models Organizations values.
Demonstrates regular reliable and predictable attendance.
Performs other duties as required.
Other Information:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum Experience: 1 year
- PTCB or NHA ExCPT Certification (active)
- License: Registered Pharmacy Technician (active & in good standing)
- CT Department of Consumer Protection for those working in CT
- NY Board of Pharmacy for those working in NY
