Job Summary
Location: Ditton Priors near Bridgnorth
A specialist teaching role where support relationships and sustainability genuinely matter
Are you a qualified KS2 teacher with experience or interest in SEND and SEMH
Are you looking for a role where children are known behaviour systems are shared and leaders understand the realities of specialist teaching
The role:
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons across core subjects tailored to individual needs
- Work with Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) to support both academic and personal development
- Contribute to EHCP reviews and PEP meetings with clear leadership guidance
- Create a calm safe and inclusive classroom environment
- Work closely with teaching assistants pastoral staff families and external professionals
- Promote safeguarding and pupil wellbeing with strong systems and senior support in place
Although Esland Shropshire School supports pupils aged 818 this post is firmly focused on KS2 learners with curriculum planning and classroom practice aligned accordingly.

Requirements for a SEN Teacher:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree
- Experience teaching KS2 across a range of subjects
- An understanding of SEND particularly SEMH
- Strong inclusive teaching and behavioursupport strategies
- A clear commitment to safeguarding and pupil welfare
- A qualification or degree in psychology
- A higher qualification or equivalent
- Is calm reflective and relationshipfocused
- Has high expectations balanced with empathy and realism
- Communicates well and works positively as part of a team
- Is committed to learning development and good practice
- Is motivated by making a difference not ticking boxes
