PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The successful candidate will work within our Precast Concrete Division andtheir prime role will be to compile and report on the performance of precastconcrete contracts against original estimates. They will also be expected tobe involved at local level with all aspects of accounting.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The main areas of responsibility that you will be involved in will be: Contract performance reporting against estimates. Reconciliation of monthlymanagement accounts with contract costs. Ensure that all relevant contractcosts are captured. Provide contract feedback and support to estimatingsurveying and commercial colleagues. Audit and oversee manufactured productand consumable stores stock takes. Monthly Contract Work In Progresscalculations. Ensuring that key financial and in-house systems are accurateand adequately maintained at depot level including providing cover foraccounts colleagues. Delivery of continuous improvement initiatives andvarious ad hoc projects. Ensure compliance with the Companys policiesincluding Health & Safety. Observe and comply with all good workingpractices within the office.
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
QUALIFICATIONS KNOWLEDGE EXPERIENCE SKILLS ATTRIBUTES
Essential:
Have suitable experience such as accountancy or quantity surveyingqualifications or be experienced part qualified. Be keen to learn andunderstand all aspects of our precast business. Be computer literateparticularly in Outlook Excel and Word. Excellent communication and peopleskills. Ability to work on own initiative and be highly motivated to work aspart of a team and deliver high quality work to tight deadlines. The abilityto work calmly under pressure. Demonstrate exceptional attention to detail. Have an independent mind with the willingness to challenge estimates andcosts. Be analytical and inquisitive
