The University of Iowa Department of Athletics seeks applications for an Assistant Football Coach. This is a full-time (at-will and FLSA-exempt) position which includes full University benefits. Responsibilities: The Assistant Football Coach is responsible for providing administrative instructional and coaching assistance to the Head Coach with the purpose of building a successful competitive intercollegiate sports program that also retains and graduates student-athletes. This position will be required to work evenings weekends and holiday hours as needed.

Required qualifications:
- Bachelors degree (or international equivalent);
- 3-5 years of experience working in a highly competitive football environment as a high school collegiate or professional coach;
- Professional experience working effectively with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and perspectives demonstrating strong interpersonal skills and ability to build trusting relationships;
- Working knowledge of and ability to utilize basic office productivity software and online database systems (please specify);
- Excellent oral and written communication skills as demonstrated through public speaking engagements clinician experience and use of effective and creative training/coaching techniques;
- Demonstrated experience organizing and managing complex functions on behalf of an organization;
- Strong technical and tactical knowledge;
- Demonstrated knowledge of NCAA rules;
- A valid U.S. driving license and the ability to meet and maintain University of Iowa Driving Policy standards.
Desired qualifications: - Five to seven years of successful football coaching experience in one of the following areas: head coach offensive coordinator defensive coordinator or position coach (please specify);
- Three to five years of demonstrated success in recruiting;
- Demonstrates extensive proficiency and ability to:
- Genuine passion for and experience with supporting the holistic development of student-athletes recognizing the interconnectedness of mental health and overall well-being.
