About the Opportunity

We are conducting a confidential search for an experienced Estimating Manager to join a highly respected construction organization with a strong reputation for preconstruction excellence collaboration and disciplined execution.

This role is ideal for an estimator who thrives on complex projects detailed quantity takeoffs scope clarity and constructability-driven cost solutions. You will play a key role in shaping competitive bids negotiated proposals and value-driven estimating strategies while working closely with operations field teams subcontractors and vendors.

What Youll Do

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for competitive bids and negotiated projects

• Perform quantity takeoffs directly from plans and specifications

• Read interpret and outline project drawings and specifications

• Maintain clear audit trails from estimate to estimate

• Develop and manage trade scopes of work responsibility matrices and pricing strategies

• Coordinate subcontractor and vendor pricing bid solicitation and evaluation

• Partner with operations and field teams to identify more economical construction methods

• Support self-perform estimating and understand labor productivity

• Apply Lean construction principles to improve value and profitability

• Participate in bid day activities summaries and procurement presentations

• Deliver professional comprehensive estimate packages at each milestone

• Provide mentorship and knowledge-sharing within the estimating team

What Were Looking For

Required Qualifications:

• 3 years of construction estimating experience

• Strong ability to read and understand drawings and specifications

• Experience preparing complex estimates for competitive or negotiated work

• Proficiency with construction estimating software and Excel

• Knowledge of means and methods scopes of work and subcontractor coordination

• Ability to collaborate effectively with project teams vendors and field staff

Preferred Background:

• 5 years of total construction industry experience

• Bachelors degree in Construction Management Engineering or related field

• Exposure to self-perform work labor productivity and general requirements

• Familiarity with Lean construction principles

• Experience supporting projects from preconstruction through execution
