Job Summary | The Parking & Transportation Services Department provides access to the campus through alternative commute options and parking programs that mitigate traffic congestion and improve air quality through the reduction of mobile source emissions. The Communications Student Assistant with support in content creation and social media efforts to improve awareness of Parking and Commuting services policies and procedures and upcoming parking updates. Duties and responsibilities associated with the position and how they relate to the purpose or role: - General office duties such as data-entry archiving photocopying.
- Draft and brainstorm content ideas for P&TS social media pages and newsletter.
- Supports the Project Specialist with graphic design creation.
- Assist with photo/video capture and archiving images on the server.
- Assist Communications Specialist with event messaging materials setup and social coverage for department events on campus.

Minimum Qualifications | Ability to learn and perform assigned work; follow oral instructions; work cooperatively with faculty staff and other students; communicate effectively with all levels; and read and write English at a level appropriate to the position. - Ability to learn and perform assigned work.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Capable of working both independently and cooperatively with faculty staff and other students. Maintains a professional and friendly demeanor.

Required Qualifications | - Ability to act in an appropriate manner with sensitive and confidential information/situations.
- Ability to stand/walk for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to work outdoors in all types of weather.
- Ability to push pull or lift equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Current student at CSUF and is enrolled/registered (fees paid) in a current regular semester as a new or continuing student.
- Student who has completed the prior semester (has not graduated) or who is registered for the subsequent semester.
- In good academic standing (not on academic probation continued probation academic dismissal).
- Student who is authorized to work in the United States and can provide employment eligibility documents.
- Must be available to work during the first week of classes for Fall/Spring semesters and available to work a minimum of two shifts during Commencement Week.

Preferred Qualifications | - Knowledgeable of social media platforms and functions as well as awareness of current trends.
- Prior experience or knowledge/experience with graphic design and video content preferred.
- Valid California drivers license (Class C minimum)

Background Check | A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for this position. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information.
