About the Opportunity:
We invite applications from qualified candidates for a full-time Non-Tenure-Track (NTT) Assistant Teaching Professor faculty position within the Department of Biology which is part of the College of Science on the Boston campus. The position is on-site and includes opportunities for career advancement. The Department of Biology is strongly interdisciplinary and administers programs in Biology Cell and Molecular Biology Biochemistry and Behavioral Neuroscience for more than 1200 undergraduates.
Responsibilities:
The primary responsibilities of this position include teaching lecture sections for undergraduate genetics and genomics upper-level genomics and an inquiry-based computational genomics course that gives students the opportunity to perform authentic scientific research. NTT faculty with appointments in Biology are expected to teach five courses per year and provide one equivalent unit of service to the Department/College/University. This role involves coordination with other instructors organization of computational laboratory curricula and additional course development.
Qualifications:
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in the biological sciences bioinformatics or a closely related discipline prior to the start of the appointment and demonstrate excellence in the following: teaching undergraduate research mentoring communication collaboration and leadership. The position requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work productively both individually and in a team with other faculty as well as interacting with students and administrative staff.
Experience teaching genomics with emphasis on practical computational skills for biological research and developing laboratory or computational exercises that integrate bioinformatics tools with core genetic and genomic concepts is preferred.

Pay Range:
Assistant Teaching Professor: $75000.00 - $85000.00With the pay range(s) shown above the starting salary will depend on several factors which may include your education experience location knowledge and expertise and skills as well as a pay comparison to similarly-situated employees already in the role. Salary ranges are reviewed regularly and are subject to change.
