THE OPPORTUNITY
Silvus is seeking a full-time Junior Quality Engineer that will report to the Director of Quality. The successful individual in this role will support our StreamCaster MANET product development and manufacturing.
This position is fully onsite Monday through Friday at Silvus Technologies HQ in the heart of vibrant West Los Angeles.
The following is a list of at least some of the current essential job functions of the position. Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities at any time at its discretion.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform acceptance testing on first article PCBs assemblies and components in a Linux-based environment.
Prepare assemblies according to established acceptance testing procedures.
Support maintenance troubleshooting repair and upgrading of test stations.
Perform rigorous stress testing on fully built assemblies to validate components.
Identify the serviceability of parts and components and appropriate tooling.
Inspect First Article components and subassemblies.
Read and interpret part documentation including blueprints drawings schematics etc.
Prepare in-process inspection report ensuring completeness and accuracy.
Work closely with engineering and operations leadership to develop and maintain Quality Assurance and Quality Control documentation.
Collaborate with the engineering and quality teams to identify investigate and document any inconsistent or abnormal test results.
As necessary performs other related duties of which the above are representative.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Associates in related fields or technical programs with at least 1 year of inspection/repair experience.
Experience with utilizing inspection tools (i.e. multi-meters calipers micrometers microscopes).
Ability to read basic schematics specifically those related to PCBs and PWAs.
Proficient with PC and familiar with MS Office.
Must have excellent organizational skills be highly attentive to details and have the capacity to handle numerous tasks simultaneously.
Excellent and effective oral and written communication.
NOTE - Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident) due to clients under U.S. federal contracts.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Prior experience in a fast-paced production/manufacturing environment.
Soldering experience.
IPC Certification.
WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Office environment.
Occasional exposure to heat cold and allergens while performing tests or demonstrations in the field.
While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to do the following:
Must be able to lift up to 10 lbs.
Walking/Moving in the labs.
CA Pay Range: $37.26 - $42.07/ hour USD
The pay range is NOT a guarantee. It is based on market research and peer data and will vary depending on the candidates experience and qualifications.
