About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Warehouse Operations Manager to lead and optimize operations at our Carol Stream Illinois distribution center. This role is ideal for a hands-on data-driven leader with a strong background in lean process improvement automated conveyance systems and large-scale warehouse operations.


You will oversee end-to-end warehouse operationsincluding receiving storage fulfillment and shippingwhile driving continuous improvement initiatives that enhance throughput space utilization safety and cost efficiency. Experience working in highly automated environments including ASRS (Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems) is strongly preferred.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily operations across receiving storage order fulfillment packaging and outbound shipping

  • Ensure accurate inventory control material accountability and audit compliance

  • Oversee shipping and receiving schedules to optimize workflow dock utilization and warehouse space

  • Drive operational excellence through lean methodologies (Kaizen continuous improvement events standard work)

  • Lead annual improvement plans and lean events presenting results and ROI to executive leadership

  • Ensure effective operation and maintenance of facilities equipment and automated material handling systems

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to implement operational policies procedures and performance standards

  • Utilize data and reporting to monitor KPIs identify gaps and implement corrective actions

  • Influence internal stakeholders and external partners (vendors suppliers) to align on process improvements

  • Support strategic planning by providing input into long-term operational and capacity strategies


Leadership & People Management

  • Lead and develop manager-level direct reports and their teams

  • Set clear objectives aligned to broader business and operational goals

  • Provide coaching direction and performance feedback to drive accountability and engagement

  • Balance strategic leadership with hands-on operational involvement when expertise is needed

  • Serve as a trusted operational partner to senior and executive leadership


What You Bring

  • 5 years of experience leading manager-level leaders within warehouse or distribution operations

  • Strong background in warehouse management logistics or supply chain operations

  • Proven experience implementing lean process improvement initiatives in fast-paced environments

  • Exposure to automated conveyance systems; ASRS experience is a strong plus

  • Ability to lead through moderately complex operational challenges and ambiguity

  • Demonstrated ability to influence across functions and levels of the organization

  • Strong analytical decision-making and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills including executive-level reporting


Education & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelors degree (4-year) required

  • 8 years of functional experience in warehouse logistics or distribution operations

  • Minimum of 5 years in a leadership role managing manager-level direct reports

  • Demonstrated mastery of warehouse operations with measurable business impact

  • Advanced degree (Masters) preferred but not required

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $110600.00 - $188100.00 per year.

The ranges above reflect the potential annual base pay across the U.S. for all roles; the applicable base pay range will depend on the candidates primary work location pay grade and variable compensation plan. Individual base pay within each range depends on various factors in addition to primary work location such as complexity and responsibility of role job duties/requirements and relevant experience and skills. Base pay ranges are reviewed and typically updated each year. Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time of hire. New hires starting base pay generally falls in the bottom half (between the minimum and midpoint) of a pay range.
