Required Education and Experience:Bachelors Degree AND:

  • 48 months of experience in a related field.

Equivalency/Substitution: Will accept 48 months of related experience in lieu of the Bachelors Degree.

Skills:

  • Deep understanding of the recruiting process including official and unofficial visits gameday programming and the signing process.
  • Experience supervising hiring and recruiting staff members.
  • Familiarity with NCAA institutional and conference recruiting policies.
  • Ability to collaborate with multiple departments.
  • Budget development and management.

Working Conditions Detail:

  • Ability to engage in repetitive motion.
  • Frequent exposure to pressure caused by deadlines and busy periods.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5 years working in Division I collegiate football recruiting.
  • Experience leading a cross-functional multi-faceted team.

Under the direction of the General Manager and Head Football Coach the Director of Football Recruiting Operations will lead and execute all year-round recruiting efforts in alignment with the mission values and competitive excellence of Oklahoma Football. This role oversees every facet of the recruiting operationsfrom official and unofficial visits gameday programming and junior days to budget management and NCAA-compliant processeswhile serving as a primary point of contact for prospective student-athletes and their families. The ideal candidate is a proven Division I recruiting professional with a digital-first brand-driven approach exceptional organizational and leadership skills and a relentless commitment to innovation and excellence. Essential Functions:

  • Oversee and execute all football recruiting efforts with primary focus on Official Visits Unofficial Visits Gameday Recruiting Programming Junior Days and other events as assigned.
  • Direct and coordinate the daily operations of the Oklahoma Football recruiting department and recruiting operations staff.
  • Develop maintain and execute the recruiting departments budget.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned prospects and families managing correspondence calendars and itineraries for official and unofficial visits.
  • Oversee logistical planning expense reports and paperwork related to all prospect official and unofficial visits including but not limited to hotels flights transportation dining and catering needs.
  • In conjunction with athletics compliance facilitate admissions applications monitor transcripts and collect prospective student-athlete information related to eligibility and the admissions process.
  • Hire schedule supervise and evaluate recruiting staff interns and student workers. Manage weekly schedules job duties and event assignments.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive 12-month recruiting operations calendar.
  • Work closely with the football creative staff to ensure timely and effective communication through social media mailers emails questionnaires and phone calls.
  • Oversee the high school and transfer signing process in partnership with Compliance including NLIs and financial aid agreements.
  • Collaborate with Soul Mission staff to manage midyear and summer onboarding for OU Football signees.
  • Consistently market and promote the OU Football program to recruits high school coaches and the public.
  • Other duties as assigned by the General Manager and Head Football Coach.
