Engineering Manager (Software Development)

This role is ideal for an experienced engineering leader who thrives at the intersection of people leadership delivery and collaboration. Youll be accountable for team performance and outcomes while partnering closely with Product and cross-functional stakeholders to bring complex software initiatives to life.
What Youll Do
- Lead and support a team of software engineers with a focus on performance growth engagement and retention
- Plan and oversee medium-to-large development initiatives ensuring work is clearly scoped prioritized and delivered on time
- Set clear goals and expectations while removing obstacles that slow teams down
- Conduct regular 1:1s and performance conversations centered on feedback development and career growth
- Partner closely with Product Sales Customer Support and other stakeholders to align technical execution with business goals
- Promote high standards for software quality reliability and maintainability
- Encourage innovation and continuous improvement across products and development processes
This is a people-first leadership role. While technical fluency is important success comes from coaching engineers driving alignment and owning delivery outcomes rather than writing code day-to-day.
What You Bring
- Strong technical foundation with the ability to understand and guide SaaS and commercial software development
- Experience managing engineers working with object-oriented languages and modern web technologies (Java/J2EE required)
- Proven ability to plan resources manage priorities and navigate change in evolving environments
- Comfort making decisions with incomplete information and balancing competing priorities
- Clear thoughtful written and verbal communication skills
- Experience leading teams using Agile methodologies such as Scrum or XP
- A practical outcome-focused mindset paired with a genuine interest in developing people
