Team Overview:
Corporate Functions Transformation ERP Program
The Corporate Functions Transformation (CFT) program is a multi-year strategic initiative designed to modernize and unify core business processes across HR Finance Procurement and IT. At its heart is the implementation of a new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platform replacing legacy systems and siloed processes with an integrated efficient and future-ready solution.
The Business Analyst will be a key participant in EDCs transformation towards a modern ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning platform) engaging with business teams across EDC to help define the target state process data and technology needs supporting the initiative team with managing program risk partnering with a variety of internal and external stakeholders enabling the corporate functions of EDC
The Senior Business Analyst works in a matrixed and collaborative environment with other team members and delivery partners to connect business subject matter experts and technical communities in the development of solutions that support the programs needs. The Senior Business Analyst elicits analyzes communicates validates and translates business needs into artifacts to be consumed by delivery teams.
The Senior Business Analyst will hit the ground running to assess processes and data streams identify use cases and is proficient in the utilization of appropriate tools models and techniques as part of delivering desired outcomes. The Senior Business Analyst proactively builds relationships with business subject matter experts and collaborates on requirements artifacts with delivery partners influencing format and ensuring best practices for communicating requirements among stakeholder groups.
The Senior Business Analyst is recognized as a leader within the program team and is an active contributor to the overall maturation of the team and its program delivery practices.
This position requires digital competencies an ability to learn new solutions rapidly the agility to respond to constant changes strong IT knowledge as well as excellent communications and analytical skills. It also necessitates strong collaborative and relationship management skills given a high level of interaction.
What you will be doing:
Understand business needs and capture them clearly and in an easily consumed format
Deconstruct complex technical solutions and explain them to a non-technical audience in simple and clear terms
Present complex or conflicting situations/issues to stakeholders; use persuasion influence negotiation and conflict resolution skills
Identify changes in business terms because of changing technology or digital capabilities
Solving problems by leveraging critical thinking concepts and data
Contribute to the creation of strategy and planning with team leadership
Understand and effortlessly articulate the Corporate Functions (HR Finance Procurement) Transformation Roadmap and ensure requirements conversations/outputs align to Roadmap
Utilize broad knowledge of business processes applications products business strategy and internal and external customer needs to contribute to the optimum business solution
Recognize pro-actively where solutions impact related workstreams applications business processes or data/information integrity
Lead informative well-organized presentations and facilitate sessions to review requirements and identify gaps; bring others to agreement around a set of ideas to achieve the goal or bring about beneficial resolution
Deliver clear complete and usable documentation that is right sized for the circumstances
Ensure BA activities and outputs align with standards set forth by the EDC Business Analysis Chapter /Community of Practice
Relationship & Change Management
Work collaboratively with the Corporate Functions (HR Finance & Procurement) teams its vendor partners and internal stakeholders towards a common goal
Build sustain and leverage positive relationships with groups within and outside their areas of immediate responsibility as well as external contacts anticipating assessing and meeting their needs in a mutually beneficial manner while managing expectations
Anticipate prepare and respond effectively to change creating an open receptive work environment
Support business subject matters experts through user acceptance testing (UAT) and operational readiness activities
What we are looking for:
Undergraduate Degree in Commerce Business Computer Science Engineering or related field
7 years of experience as a Business Analyst or similar position
2 years of experience working within a digital journey or digitalization project(s)
Solid knowledge of Agile Delivery Practices and large program delivery roles and activities
Technical implementation and project lifecycle experience; familiarity with the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
Expert knowledge of ADO and/or JIRA Confluence and/or other requirement management tools
Excellent investigative and analytical skills; ability to translate broad strategic intent into tactical plans and directions
Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to communicate with both business and technical audiences; strong listening skills
Strong relationship management skills including facilitating group sessions and displaying leadership within a project team
Strong problem-solving skills
Understanding of Cybersecurity principles and how they can be applied to the requirements gathering process
What will make you stand out:
BA Certification such as IIBA Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or IIBA Agile Analysis Certificate or willingness to obtain
Experience with modern ERPs and large transformation programs
Experience working in Finance HR and/or Procurement portfolios
Masters Certificate in Business Analysis
Agile Certification such as PMI Disciplined Agile Scrum Master (DASM) or similar
French/English Bilingual
Experience in financial industry / insurance products and services
Experience in business intelligence data and reporting
Bilingual in both official languages (English and French)
