The Retail Infrastructure Services team within Amazon Worldwide Grocery Store Tech (WWGST) is looking for a passionate and innovative Sr. Technical Program Manager (TPM) to join our team. We have an opportunity to revolutionize the brick-and-mortar grocery shopping experience and set new standards for accessing the highest quality organic and natural groceries across the US Canada and the UK in Whole Foods Market and Amazon Fresh banner stores.
As a Technical Program Manager you will be a key member of tech initiatives and help drive forward technology solutions working with delivery teams infrastructure engineers database engineers mobile engineers and deployment program managers to create a best-in-class grocery shopping experience. The candidate must possess the ability to facilitate technical whiteboard sessions to troubleshoot project implementation issues and remove barriers to project success. Being able to stand up cross-functional teams establish trust with a variety of stakeholders design solutions remove blockers and find creative ways to accelerate project delivery is a must. The ideal candidate will be an exceptionally strong communicator both written and verbally and possess experience in tactical project management of highly technical initiatives as well as strategic program management. They will be able to apply a variety of project management tools methodologies and techniques for all phases of the project lifecycle and exhibit demonstrated experience in core project management disciplines including scope schedule budget resources quality and risk management reporting and metric development/tracking.

- Prepare these solutions for seamless delivery to our store banners working in tandem with deployment program managers and third-party OEM/field service partners. Key initiatives may include rolling out new technology to existing stores leading engineering efforts to develop and implement creative solutions spearheading AWS implementation projects managing POS/SCO image engineering as well as printer and service scale efforts.

About the team
This team is responsible for leading complex and challenging projects that will deliver innovative infrastructure solutions for point-of-sale (POS) self-checkout (SCO) service scale mobility and printing solutions to our physical stores.
- 7 years of technical product or program management experience
- 7 years of working directly with engineering teams experience
- 3 years of software development experience
- 5 years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams building processes and coordinating release schedules
- Experience building and evaluating system-level technical design
- 5 years managing AWS engineering projects.
- Technical program management experience (or direct engineering experience) working with infrastructure teams on hardware (such as servers laptops point-of-sale and mobile devices) and operating systems (Windows and Linux) level solutions
- 5 years of project management disciplines including scope schedule budget quality along with risk and critical path management experience
- Experience managing projects across cross functional teams building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
- Experience defining KPIs/SLAs used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
