Position Summary:
Florida Atlantic University is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Specialist I - Boca Raton FL
The Environmental Health and Safety Specialists primary duties are in support of the EH&S fire safety program including but not limited to serving as a liaison to State Fire Marshal and coordination of SFM inspections of facilities and construction sites responding to fire alarms coordinating corrective actions for fire safety deficiencies.
Responsibilities:
Conducts inspections and prepares recommendations for corrective action.
Coordinates the maintenance of safety equipment.
Conducts training programs to educate the university community as to preventative measures.
Reviews accidental injury reports conducts investigations and maintains statistics of accident cases.
Assists in reviewing plans for new construction and renovation for compliance with applicable building codes.
Collects and transports hazardous wastes.
Provides support of general EH&S operations i.e. record keeping training equipment maintenance EH&S facilities and vehicle maintenance.
Special projects as assigned.

A high school diploma and four years of appropriate experience required. Appropriate college coursework may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.Salary:
