Job Summary

Wealth Trust & Estate Planning Associate

We are seeking an associate attorney to join a well-established and highly respected Wealth Trust & Estate Planning practice based in Charlotte. This role offers the opportunity to work on sophisticated private wealth matters for high-net-worth individuals families and closely held businesses while receiving hands-on training and mentorship from experienced practitioners.

The position is ideal for an attorney who enjoys combining technical tax knowledge with thoughtful client counseling. You will play a meaningful role in designing implementing and administering estate plans while building long-term relationships with clients and collaborating closely with colleagues across related practice areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft wills revocable and irrevocable trusts and related estate planning documents
  • Advise clients on federal estate gift and generation-skipping transfer tax matters
  • Assist with estate and trust administration matters
  • Support planning for closely held businesses partnerships and corporate structures
  • Participate in charitable planning and tax-efficient wealth transfer strategies
  • Conduct legal research and prepare written analyses and client communications
  • Collaborate with attorneys across tax corporate and fiduciary practices

What Were Looking For:

  • Two to four years of experience in trusts and estates or private wealth planning
  • Experience drafting wills trusts and related estate planning documents
  • Working knowledge of federal estate and gift tax regimes
  • Experience with estate administration charitable planning business succession planning or sophisticated tax planning is preferred
  • Strong academic credentials with excellent research writing presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Detail-oriented client-focused and comfortable working in a collaborative team environment
