Job Summary

Trim Operator

Shift: 5am-1:30pm OT & weekends as needed

Pay: $25-$30/hr

Basic Purpose and Objective
Trimmer Operator individual operates trimmer machines for the manufacture of Aerospace Fasteners.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

Follows sequence of operations and methods in accordance with written and verbal instructions.
Operates trimmer machines to produce machined parts according to blueprints specifications and/or special instructions.
Starts and operates machine operation to detect out-of-tolerance machining and adjust controls and machine as required.
Checks parts for conformance to specifications using micrometers calipers and gauges and perform SPC
Recognizes and remedies minor machine malfunctioning or cutting action of tools. Major discrepancies are reported to supervisor.
Checks tooling and reworks as needed to keep machine running.
Lays out parts for successive and continuous machining operations.
Understands specifications from general description and draws rough sketch of part of product to be fabricated.
Examine products to verify conformance to quality standards by following blueprints or work instructions.
Reads blueprint or job order for product specification such as dimensions tolerance number or parts to be checked.
Performs record keeping data entry housekeeping and follows safety regulations.
Other duties may be assigned.

Skills and Formal Training Requirements/Experience

Apply principles of rational systems to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written oral diagrammatic or schedule form.
Able to read comprehend and execute directions from mechanical drawings.
Able to measure dimensions of products to verify conformance to specifications using measuring instruments such as rulers calipers gauges or micrometers
