Job Summary
3 months contract with local authority
This temporary position aims to support the Councils Vision by delivering comprehensive Food Safety services in line with Service Development Plans performance targets legislation and Council standards. The role is designed to cover current absences in the Food Safety Team and provide additional resources to meet inspection targets. The position involves collaboration with team members the Council and external organizations to develop innovative solutions to environmental health challenges ensuring best practices and value for money.
Responsibilities:

- Conduct research and report findings on Environmental Health matters.
- Perform Food Safety inspections investigations and audits using education advice and enforcement techniques.

- Undertake additional duties as required aligned with the roles purpose and grading.
Requirements
Requirements:
- Experience: Significant recent experience as an Environmental Health Officer or Food Safety Enforcement Officer within a local authority.
- Qualifications: Degree or diploma in Environmental Health accredited by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health; recognized food safety qualification; EHRB registration.
- Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for diverse audiences.
- In-depth knowledge of food safety technical and legal aspects.
- Ability to manage a varied workload within a performance framework.
- Proficiency in MS Office and Civica APP (Flare) software.
