Join our Retail Protection team as an Initial Risk Underwriter and play a key role in helping customers secure the right cover for lifes uncertainties. Youll be part of a collaborative environment where your expertise ensures fair and accurate underwriting decisions supporting customers when they need us most.
What youll be doing:
- Reviewing customer applications and assessing risk factors to determine appropriate cover
- Deciding on policy terms within your authority level and escalating where necessary
- Requesting additional information from customers or medical professionals when required
- Delivering exceptional customer service by addressing queries efficiently and professionally
- Recording all work accurately to support effective communication and decision-making
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of legislation regulation and company policies
- Communicating clearly with internal teams external customers and third parties
- Supporting compliance with service commitments and customer expectations
Qualifications :
Who were looking for:
- Understanding of risk factors for mortality and morbidity
- Basic knowledge of protection products such as Life Critical Illness and Income Protection
- Awareness of legislative and regulatory requirements (desirable)
- Ability to manage time effectively and prioritise workload
- Strong written and verbal communication skills across multiple channels
- Capability to assess applications holistically and make balanced decisions
- Familiarity with relevant systems and software (training provided if needed)
- Commitment to delivering excellent customer experience and meeting service standards
