Front line loss mitigation function providing governance and oversight over higher risk accounts. Manage watchlist and problem loan portfolio to diligently mitigate losses and recommend provisions/ write-offs for non-performing loans. Is this role right for you In this role you will:
Provide Expert Advice:
- Contribute to the minimization of reputational and credit losses by providing strategic guidance and advice of portfolio performance and regular dialogue with GRM / Banking / Execution teams.
- Serve as an advocate to protect value for clients and the Bank by providing practical solutions for problem loans in the SAM portfolio
- Manage relationships with borrowers and other lenders (as required) working with professionals (legal / financial advisory) as necessary and represent the Banks position to all parties
- Provide support to Banking teams for SAM Shadowed and Advisory accounts.
- Enhance collaboration with other areas of the bank (e.g. GBM Finance Audit etc.)
- Remain up to date on industry perspectives and practices
- Monitor the timely review of all applications and submissions.
Risk Assessment and Compliance:
- Participate in the annual (quarterly for Problem Loans) process to assess the proper risk for each borrower andreview and recommend provisions for the non-performing portfolio.
- Evaluate financial and non-financial risks ensuring accurate client risk profiling.
- Support the identification of training coaching and process improvement opportunities in conjunction withBanking and Credit (including post-mortems)
- Confirm that the terms and conditions of authorizations are accurately documented.
- Liaise with internal audit banking regulators and the external auditors.
- Ensure compliance with bank policies and regulatory requirements and adequate escalation of exceptions.
- Navigate credit submissions through the adjudication process.
Portfolio Management:
- Participate in portfolio monitoring and active development and implementation of recovery strategies for at-riskaccounts to maximize recoveries and minimize resolution timelines.
- Ensure the accuracy of data in the various databases and reports including all requirements related toregulatory requirements and Bank systems.
- Work with GRM to ensure adherence to all compliance metrics of the loan portfolio is managed effectively withindefined KPI.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role - Wed love to work with you if you have:
- Minimum of 5 years of banking experience.
- Minimum Post Secondary Education in Business or related area preferably professionalaccounting designation CFA or MBA with commercial and/or corporate banking experience.
- Knowledge and understanding of Corporate and/or Commercial banking.
- Strong skills in financial analysis and risk assessment.
- Awareness of differences in the tax legal and accounting rules of the various jurisdictions.
- Good understanding of a wide variety of industries and markets which require specializedknowledge.
- General computer knowledge to effectively use various computer software applications.
- Solid knowledge of insolvency and restructuring matters or a willingness to develop this knowledge.
- Proven skills with respect to deal negotiation deal structuring due diligence and loandocumentation.
- Strong writing and presentation skills.
- Strong time management planning and organizing skills to manage multiple priorities in a dynamicwork environment.
- Strong interpersonal relationship building and communication skills.
- Language Skills: English - advanced
