The University of Mary Hardin-Baylors College of Humanities and Sciences is seeking a non-tenure-track faculty position in Mathematics beginning in late July of 2026 for the 2026-27 academic year. UMHB seeks faculty who are active Christians and dedicated teacher-scholars to prepare students for leadership service and faith-informed discernment in a global society.
The Mathematics program offers two degree programs to prepare students for success in graduate school for mathematical careers in business and industry and to be effective secondary teachers. The Department also provides instructional support to other degree programs and contributes to the core curriculum.
UMHB is conveniently located in Belton an historic town of 27000 in the heart of central Texas. Nearby cities are Temple (5 miles) Waco (45 miles) Austin (65 miles) San Antonio (130 miles) and Dallas/Ft. Worth (130 miles). Excellent schools abundant cultural and recreational opportunities and a high quality of life are hallmarks of the local community.
Faculty Responsibilities: Activities required of all faculty include exemplary teaching curriculum development student advising; professional attainment; and service to department college university and the community.
Specific Responsibilities:Teach mathematics courses including College Algebra Pre-Calculus and other courses as needed. Instructors typically teach 15 hours per semester.
Qualifications:
- Must be an active and committed Christian who will support the Universitys mission and who will be an active participant in their local church.
- A masters degree in Mathematics is required. A doctorate in Mathematics or related field is preferred.
- Excellent teaching and communication skills a dedication to professional attainment and commitment to quality improvement are essential.
- Must agree to the Universitys Employee Statement of Understanding
