Job Summary
As a Systems Administrator at Kitware you will play a vital role on the Systems Administration team working closely with teammates in supporting critical infrastructure used by Kitwares research and development engineers and support staff across a diverse range of projects.
In This Position You Will:
- Support end-user hardware and software (Windows Linux macOS)
- Participate in the support of Linux (Ubuntu) and Windows server infrastructure
- Support regulated and customer-sponsored computing environments including environments subject to security clearance as needed
- Assist in administering device management systems (Active Directory JAMF Puppet)
- Provide support for virtual infrastructure (VMware) cloud-computing services (AWS) and various cloud service providers
- Maintain backup infrastructure (Veeam)
- Configure networking including firewalls wireless networks VPN tunnels and VLANs
- Make recommendations on new system purchases (end-user and infrastructure)
- Maintain documentation in support of new technologies and applications
Required Qualifications:
- Due to contractual requirements U.S. citizenship is required along with the willingness and ability to obtain use and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance with the ability to obtain a CI polygraph
- Bachelors or associates degree in an IT-related field with 2 to 5 years of relevant experience or equivalent amount of education and experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Security or willingness to successfully obtain required certifications
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Linux system administration and Active Directory management
- Experience working alongside software development teams
- Familiarity with security and compliance frameworks
$85000 - $110000 a year
