Purpose
Contributes to the overall success of the Business Risk Manager Unit within International Banking in ensuring specific individual goals plans initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the teams business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations internal policies and procedures
What Youll Do:
- Provide support for the governance and execution of Non-Financial Programs as required to assist risk owners in proactively identify risk issues emerging risks and controls effectiveness.
- Provide support to the team in effectively communicating strategy and initiatives to executives by developing management reports presentations and metrics across Non-Financial Risk Programs.
- Ongoing interaction with the Business Lines lines of defense risk program owners country Business Risk Management teams in order to become a trusted advisor.
- Provide support to business units in case of Internal Control breakdowns; providing guidance on action plan and escalating to management as required.
- Support the IB Non-Financial Risk team in aspects of major strategic Business Risk Management change initiatives leveraging process and technology solutions that can be shared across IB jurisdictions and provide consistency with Bank models.
- Share Business Risk Management review recommendations and lessons learned to ensure consistent application of key Business Risk Managements which contribute to sustained improvement of risk key performance indicators across International Banking.
- Collaborate with IB business units coordinating and providing support for the effective resolution of audit and operational risk issues remediation efforts as required; ensuring operational deficiencies are addressed and operational soundness is maintained. Proactive follow-up to ensure that commitments made are delivered on.
- Promote a risk-aware culture; ensure efficient and effective risk and compliance management practices by adhering to required standards and processes.
- Remaining current on all operational policies and procedures through reviews of the Banks manuals / policies as well as country specific processes that are directly related to the programs in-scope.
What Youll Bring:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent.
- 5 years of operational risk management work experience.
- Superior written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills. The candidate should be fully bilingual (English and Spanish).
- Expert knowledge in ability to communicate strategy and status of initiatives to executives by producing high quality presentations and materials to be used in meetings and committees.
- Previous experience in Global Risk Management / Compliance / Audit would be an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to strategically think influence and communicate throughout all levels of the organization.
- Strong Project Management skills and excellent skills in relationship and general business management.
- Strong problem-solving techniques.
- Strong ability to balance competing/ conflicting goals of various stakeholders requiring a mature diplomatic approach and highly developed negotiation and influencing skills.
- Demonstrate flexibility and comfort in dealing with change/ambiguity. The individual must adapt to an environment of uncertainty and shifts in priority.
- Highly developed cultural sensitivity in order to operate effectively across cultural and language differences is required.
- Ability to learn and assimilate learned information into recommendations and strategies quickly.
Work Arrangement:
- A standard office environment is provided with no unusual risk of injury or ill-health from physical and environmental factors.
- Possible eyestrain and physical stress may result from the frequent and prolonged use of a PC for such activities as report-writing and data analysis.
- Active participation in working meetings sometimes organizing and leading them.
- Priorities and demands on the incumbents time can change on short notice requiring a flexible approach and the ability to multi-task.
- Tight deadlines can be imposed that may necessitate additional hours of work aside from the normal workday.
- The incumbent is often required to work in an unstructured environment and outside the scope of manual guidelines/prescribed routines.
