Job Summary
The X-Ray Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic radiographic examinations while ensuring patient safety image quality and compliance with established protocols. This role supports physicians and radiologists by producing accurate imaging results and maintaining high standards of patient care in a clinical setting.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare patients for X-ray examinations by explaining procedures and positioning patients correctly
Operate X-ray and radiologic imaging equipment safely and accurately
Adhere to radiation safety protocols to protect patients staff and self
Capture high-quality diagnostic images as ordered by physicians
Review images for technical accuracy and completeness prior to submission
Maintain clean and calibrate imaging equipment; report any malfunctions promptly
Follow physician instructions and established imaging protocols
Maintain accurate patient records and imaging documentation
Assist radiologists and physicians during diagnostic procedures as needed
Monitor patients throughout procedures and report any adverse reactions
Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations safety standards and healthcare policies
Keep imaging rooms clean organized and adequately stocked
Required Qualifications
Active Radiologic Technologist certification and/or state license (as applicable)
Proven experience as an X-Ray Technologist
Strong knowledge of radiographic procedures and radiation safety
Excellent patient communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment
