The Economic Development Officer plays a vital role in helping shape a thriving forward-looking local this role youll support the Economic Development Team to deliver innovative initiatives programs and projects designed to attract retain and grow businesses across our community. Youll be at the heart of building prosperityproviding essential administrative and operational support collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders promoting new opportunities and gathering insights that help drive positive economic outcomes for our city.
About the Role
In this dynamic position you will:
- Assist in delivering initiatives and activities from the Economic Development Strategy and Action Plans.
- Engage with residents businesses and community organisations to promote economic development initiatives and gather meaningful feedback.
- Help plan and coordinate economic development activities including business workshops networking events and promotional opportunities.
- Conduct research on economic trends industry sectors and emerging business opportunities within the local area.
- Support business growth and investment attraction through stakeholder engagement project support and contributing to marketing and strategic planning activities.
About You
Were seeking someone who is:
- An excellent communicator with strong stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strategic and analytical with the ability to translate data into meaningful recommendations.
- Innovative and enthusiastic about fostering a resilient local economy.
- Able to manage multiple projects and build strong community relationships.
- Experienced in economic development business administration policy planning or a related field (local government experience highly regarded).
