Job Summary
Amazons dynamic Tax Department is seeking a Tax Manager to join our Foreign Direct Tax Reporting & Compliance Team in Japan. As part of our fast-paced innovative team youll play a crucial role in managing worldwide tax reporting across Japan and the APAC region while working with diverse stakeholders globally.
What Youll Do:
-Lead end-to-end direct tax compliance and reporting for Japan and other APAC countries
-Manage statutory financial statement reporting under local GAAP and US GAAP worldwide tax provision
-Guide teams through tax authorities audits and controversy matters
-Partner with cross-functional teams to identify and manage strategic tax planning initiatives
-Research and document tax positions
-Spearhead process automation and digital transformation projects
-Shape global standard procedures for tax compliance and reporting

- 5 years of tax finance or a related analytical field experience
- Experience in taxation in a corporate environment public accounting firm or major law firm
- Business level or above in both Japanese and English language
- Experience working effectively across cross-functional teams and partner well with people at all levels within an organization
- Experience with accounting concepts and tax regulations laws and standards
- Experience with tax modeling in Excel-based models or other similar programs
- CPA or J.D.
- Certified Tax Accountant (Zeirishi)
