The Wave is a major transport initiative set to transform connectivity from Brisbane to the Sunshine Coast. Delivering new heavy rail from Beerwah to Birtinya and an express metro-style service through Maroochydore to the Sunshine Coast Airport this project will reduce travel times ease congestion and improve regional connections leaving a lasting legacy for the 2032 Olympic Games and beyond. Working within Queensland Rails MPI team the Project Director role will see you joining the team for the new WAVE railproject. You will lead and manage the successful delivery and integration of the an ever growing and exciting area of the business now is a great time to join QLD rail and really make your mark!

We are looking for 3 Project Directors to join the project across Greenfield and Brownfield roles.

Purpose That Counts - Some of your responsibilities will include:

• Provide leadership technical and professional guidance to design planning and delivery teams within the project
• Manage the delivery of the project in accordance with budgets schedules safety targets and project performance measures
• Provide a high level of reporting to key stakeholders which will include variations to cost. Time or quality risks and agreed deliverables
• Ensure expected enterprise project management frameworks and governance arrangements are adhered to
• Lead and provide clear direction and development of the project to ensure delivery of results in highly complex and diverse brownfield environment

People Who Count - What you can bring to the role:

• You must have a high level of skill and experience in leading the strategic direction of a complex major infrastructure project from development to construction
• Extensive knowledge of rail transport operations including legislation and organisational governance
• High level of skill in contract negotiation management and reporting within various delivery models
• High level of influencing interpersonal communication and consultation skills
