Job Summary

California Western School of Law (CWSL) seeks applications from entry-level or lateral candidates for a full-time faculty position to teach in its Legal Skills program beginning Fall 2026. Responsibilities would include teaching Legal Skills I (including objective analysis writing and research) and Legal Skills II (including persuasive writing research and oral advocacy). We expect opportunities to teach additional courses in the candidates area or areas of expertise. Although we prefer candidates seeking a tenure or tenure-track appointment we will also consider candidates applying for long-term contract status or to the long-term contract track.

Established in 1924 CWSL is a non-profit law school accredited by both the ABA and WASC as well as an AALS member that has the distinction of being San Diegos oldest law school. CWSL continues to rethink the status quo in legal educationbalancing a rigorous practical education with cutting-edge scholarship and community service. Our faculty members are experts in multiple fields and have become highly quoted authorities in numerous areas of law including constitutional law criminal law insurance legal technology and pedagogy and labor and employment.
