Hours: 7:00 AM 3:15 PM
Unit: Emergency Department
Location: Flushing NY
Pay Rate: $25/hour (W2)
Job Summary
The Emergency Room Technician (ED Tech) provides essential clinical and technical support to the Emergency Department care team. This role assists nurses and providers in delivering timely high-quality patient care in a fast-paced emergency setting ensuring patient safety comfort and accurate clinical support services.
Key Responsibilities
Assist nursing and medical staff with direct patient care in the Emergency Department
Perform phlebotomy procedures and collect laboratory specimens accurately
Obtain and document vital signs and patient data as required
Perform EKGs and assist with telemetry monitoring
Prepare patients for examinations procedures and diagnostic testing
Assist with patient transport positioning and mobility
Maintain a clean safe and organized patient care environment
Respond promptly to patient needs and clinical requests
Follow all safety infection control and HIPAA compliance standards
Support emergency response activities as directed by clinical staff
Required Qualifications
Minimum 1 year of experience as an Emergency Room Technician
Phlebotomy experience required
Experience performing EKGs and telemetry monitoring
Ability to work efficiently in a high-acuity fast-paced Emergency Department
Strong communication teamwork and time-management skills
Preferred Certifications
EKG / Arrhythmia Certification
Medical Technician Certificate
Nursing Attendant Certification
