About the Contract

Ventia was awarded the contract to deliver preventative corrective and reactive maintenance along with electrical mechanical and instrumentation services across the Seqwater network of 35 water treatment plants 95 pump stations and 26 referable dams.

Fully mobilised in February 2025 our 125 strong team continue to deliver service excellence across the entire Seqwater network. The network expands as far as Gympie in the north to the NSW border in the south and from North Stradbroke Island in the east to the base of the Toowoomba Ranges in the west.

The Role

As Safety Health Environment and Quality (SHEQ) Manager you will lead safety health environment and quality compliance across Southeast QLD operations. This is a strategic and hands-on leadership role ensuring our teams deliver safely and sustainably.

You will manage and develop a team of three SHEQ Advisors each supporting different geographic areas of the Seqwater network. Your leadership will foster collaboration capability building and a strong safety culture across all sites.

Other key responsibilities will include but is not limited to:

  • Develop and implement operational SHEQ policies and procedures.
  • Lead and coach a team of SHEQ Advisors providing guidance mentoring and performance management
  • Stakeholder engagement with client representatives
  • Drive engagement and accountability for SHEQ outcomes across the team and wider workforce
  • Lead incident investigations and ensure corrective actions.
  • Coordinate audits and inspections including ISO internal and external audits.
  • Provide strategic guidance to the HSE team and senior management.
  • Report safety performance metrics to regional and corporate teams.

About You

  • Diploma in Work Health & Safety
  • 4 years of experience as a SHEQ Manager on water infrastructure civil maintenance contracts or similar
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and developing a team
  • ICAM investigations training or similar
  • Strong negotiation and influential skills
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Construction white card
  • Current C Class Driver Licence
