Position Overview:
As a referral specialist youll play a crucial role in supporting our care delivery. You will ensure that patient referrals and all related paperwork data and tracking are completed on a daily basis.
- Functions as general office support in the clinical area and provides good customer service to all customers of ONE Health Systems Inc.
- Handles all phone calls appropriately in a timely manner.
- Appropriately records phone messages and ensures that the messages are tasked to the correct Provider.
- Responsible for ensuring that all relevant laboratory testing results office notes and patient correspondence are forwarded to Referral organization in a timely manner. .
- Assists with monitoring tracking systems to ensure that results are received. IE: Pap lab and referral.
- Assists front desk with missed appointments that need to be rescheduled and documents in the patients electronic health record.
- Assists other departments such as front desk when needed.
- Other duties as assigned
Experience:
- Computer skills required along with knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office.
- Experience with multi-line telephone system.
- Previous experience in a healthcare environment basic knowledge of medical terminology release of information and medical record maintenance activities and billing activities is preferred.
- NextGen EHR experience
- Medical Assisting Certification preferred

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit for extended periods and perform tasks requiring finger dexterity.
